Sillery Gaon is a peaceful Himalayan hamlet in Kalimpong district, West Bengal. The easiest way to reach Sillery Gaon is by road from New Jalpaiguri (NJP), Bagdogra Airport, Siliguri, or Kalimpong.
By Air – From Bagdogra Airport
The nearest airport to Sillery Gaon is Bagdogra International Airport (IXB). From Bagdogra, travellers can hire a private cab or pre-booked car and travel towards Kalimpong. From Kalimpong, the route continues towards Algarah and Pedong before taking the approach road to Sillery Gaon.
By Train – From NJP Railway Station
New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest major railway station and the most convenient rail gateway to Sillery Gaon. From NJP, you can hire a private car or taxi and travel via Teesta Bazar, Kalimpong, Algarah and Pedong towards Sillery Gaon. The journey takes several hours depending on traffic, weather and road conditions.
By Road – From Siliguri
Sillery Gaon can be reached from Siliguri by private car or taxi. The route generally goes through the Kalimpong–Algarah–Pedong side before reaching Sillery Gaon. The final stretch passes through forested mountain roads, adding to the charm of the journey.
From Kalimpong
Kalimpong is one of the most convenient road points for reaching Sillery Gaon. From Kalimpong, travel towards Algarah and then continue towards Pedong. Before reaching Pedong, take the approach road towards Sillery Gaon. The final road section is narrow and hilly, so a suitable hill vehicle is recommended.
By Shared Vehicle
