BroZ Bonolata Firmstay

Bonolata sits on open farmland at Uttar Panialguri, close to Sikhiya Jhora Eco Park and the southern boundary of Buxa Tiger Reserve. The Bhutan hills close the horizon on one side; on the other, the mustard fields turn the whole view yellow in late winter.

Six rooms open onto a shared balcony looking into the trees — one quad-bed room, two doubles and three triples, each with an attached bathroom and air conditioning available on request. Days here are unhurried: walk the rows of vegetable beds, take a village trail, sit out under the red-roofed pavilion while dinner is cooked. Rates include all meals, so very little is transactional once you have arrived.

Jungle safaris, bird watching and guided nature walks are arranged on request. Winter is the season to come — clear light, cool mornings, and the fields at their best.
