BroZ Tibetan Villa Samalbong

Tibetan Villa stands at Samalbong, on the ridge above the Reli Khola river in Kalimpong district, a few steps from the Rai Dara viewpoint. On a clear morning the Kanchenjunga range fills the northern skyline; after dark the lights of Kalimpong town string out below.

There are two kinds of room. The Swiss Cottages are compact 150 sq ft rooms with a queen bed, sleeping up to four. The Duplex Villa is larger at 180 sq ft, with a king and a queen across two levels, and takes five. Both open onto a common balcony with the valley in front of them, and both have attached bathrooms. Rates include all meals, cooked and served in the house.

The Necklace viewpoint is a 300-metre walk — the road below curls into the shape that gives it its name, and it is best seen at dusk. Khani Khola waterfall is five kilometres on, at its fullest through the monsoon. Bagdogra airport is about 80 km away and NJP around 75 km. Pets are welcome for a small charge.
